The door swings open to reveal a well-lit room. Though the walls are smoothed stone there are long glass windows inset which let in bright motes of sunlight. The view stretches out beyond, the better part looking out across cliff, beach and sea. Doing some swift calculations in your head you figure your travels have taken you almost all the way under the mountain!
The study appears to be situated on a headland of some sort for the entire west side overlooks ocean while the east shows land.
This room appears to be a more 'worked in' area than the library. The papery scent of books has been dispersed by the sea breeze, blowing in through one of the West windows, but a hint of it still remains, along with the scent of art materials and ink.
On the far side is a polished roll top desk with a mound of disorganised paperwork and a scattering of typed records that have notes scrawled across them in a variety of colours. There also appears to be a stack of sketchbooks on the desk.
A few coppery feathers are scattered about the floor, probably shed by Darkhorse, One exquisitly coloured, though bedraggled, primary feather, almost an ell long (115cm), has been placed up on a shelf above the desk, also cluttering the shelf is an ivory coloured eagle skull, a pair of african vases and a slab of stone which appears to contain a fossilized dragonfly.
Hung on a section of wall beside a set of shelves holding reference books is what appears to be a home made dream catcher, chaotically knotted with sienna embroidery thread. Studying it you manage to recognise, among other things, an echidna quill, a quandong seed and and owl feather tied into the threads.
Near it is a cork board pinned with awards and certificates.
A soft tinkling catches your attention to the East most window and you wander over to have a look. The window gazes out over a bush like scrub and you can smell eucalyptus and cassia, apparently one of Darkhorse's favorite scents. The noise comes from a delicately wrought wind chime made of carved stone dragonflies twirling in the breeze that slips in through the open window.
Looking back around the room you notice that a large leather book lies open on a broad low shelf, the woven bookmark stating "Updates" Beside it is a small polished wooden box which seems to attract you curiously. You could always have a look... Other than that there doesn't appear to be that much more here right now. You may as well head back into the caverns.
