You walk along the beach away from the mountains, wading up to your knees in the cool clear waters of the tide.
Off in the distance you can see a few islands, like great green turtles, rising from the waters and beyond them the jagged obsidian teeth of the reef that shelters guards and isolates the Tir from whatever exists beyond the Haven-shields. You cannot see the shielding from here but you are sure it extends at least some small way beyond the toothed-reef.
A silvery giggle calls your attention back the the near-waters and you see a purple face poking above the water, watching you with bright blue eyes.
The hippocampi ducks it's head under water and blows a stream of bubbles before surging up to see you clearer, chattering playfully, encouraging you out into the water.
Deciding that a bit of salt water can't harm you wade out to your waste in the shallows.
There is a flash of violet and blue as the ocean-horse whizzes past you, spinning you around with a deft flick of it's tail before leaping out of the water like a dolphin. You turn and face the creature and it laughs with a chiming voice, it's purple forelock flat on it's forehead from the water and it's pale blue eyes gleaming.cThe periwinkly blue hippocampus filly ducks it's muzzle under the water and snorts a myriad of bubbles happily while squeaking.
Following the little horse parallel to the beach a cool, salt tanged breeze whips through your hair and makes you realise that maybe it wasn't so good an idea to get quite this wet.
You wade back to shore but continue following the hippocampi, the sun gradually drying you out. Underfoot the warm yellow shore is finely dusted with irridescent shells that scrunch under your bare feet. There is a bubbling, seagull like call and you look up.
Perched on a rock just off shore is a newly hatched sea dragon. It calls again and grins at you, waving a flipper before sliding into the water, inviting you to follow. It splashes in the shallows, unable to come on land, waving it's near flipper it bubbles
"I is !nikohd!nis. See me swim!"
With that it launches itself into the water with a tremendous splash, creating waves that catapult the hippocampi out of the water. She lands back in the ocean with a small splash then, after making some annoyed noises in the direction of the seadragon, disappears under water again. The sea dragon turns it's nose out to see and swims swiftly away, leaving you to go back to the desert, follow the shore or head into the forest.
