This part of the desert's sand is surprisingly glassy blue and fine like beach sand. The air is still hot but the ground is reasonably cool.
Directly ahead of you is a HUGE Baobab tree. The shade beneath it is scant due to the lack of leaves but the broad trunk casts a wide enough shadow for several people. As you approach you see three strange creatures, one grey, one white, the other, a fox like russet resting in the tree's shade.

As you approach the grey lifts her head and looks at you. 'Welcome the the blue glass desert. I am Vanufae, this is my mate Karanahbih.' She nods her head towards the fox red male who is cleaning his forepaws "And our Daughter Arinya."
The white female inclines her head in greeting and Karanahbi looks up.

"Our species are called Zyranix, we are a mixture of fox, dragon wolf and hawk. This family is mainly wolf and fox oriented but there are those who have much hawk." Arinya stretches languidly, shaking the dust out of her snowy tail. "I'm off to hunt. Farewell K'zarti" She licks Vanufai's ear lovingly and bound out into the desert, throwing open her wings and leaping into the sky.

The two older Zyanix watch her go before turning back to you.
"We are the only Zyranix in the Tir thus far, this part of the desert is ours. Vauafae and I hope to grow more Baobab for shade soon."
Vanufae adds 'Our species are originally from Dragon Flights realm. My sire is Adeimus and dam is Trakalia. And Karanabih's dam is Misti.

Unless you accept her offer the only way is to head back away the Desert and back to the greener lands.... Or you could head out further, towards the strange rippling horizon where strangely coloured lights occassionally flash as though reflected upon something.
