Here you find yourself at the base of one of the Tir's mountains, standing at the end of the Dragonspine ranges, twilight is nearing and the shadows grow longer. The stone near the top strangely purple in the shadows and blue in the light.
The shale scree slope here is steep and treacherous but despite it you resolutely begin to climb, carefully placing your feet and breaking out in a cold sweat each time the rocks slide beneath your weight.
Finally you pull yourself up over the edge and onto the solid stone ledge on the mountainside. Despite the heat generated by your climb you shiver slightly as a cool wind brushes past you.
Beneath you the Tir spreads out, green forest, golden plains and beyond it the sapphire hues of the sea. The cool colours a sharp contrast to the ochre stone around you.
Looking along the ridge you realise it is a trick of the light that, at a distance, turns the stone to the indigo hues you see further away.
The mountain beside you is almost sheer rock but there appears to be a narrow path that winds along the mountainside, gradually angling upward. In the other direction the ridge also terminates against the mountain though there is a large nook with what appears to be a huge nest firmly wedged in a cave like overhang.
There is a rustle of feathers and a dark shape gracefully descends to land near you, it's hooves clatter a little on the stone. She stands shuffling her wings into place before nodding in greetings to you, it's blue eyes bright with humour.
"Hullo, I'm Aisling, this is my roost, indigo ridge." She flicks her ice white tail indicating the ribbon of rock.
"You did very well to get up here. It's no easy task without wings." She snuffs the breeze as it sets her forelock dancing. "Indigo ridge joins into the DragonTail pass back down hill a little. The mountain above us is ice and snow. Nothing I know live on it, further around to the West along the goat path is where they gryphons roost though. Beyond the mountain is the sea."
The black filly dances on the spot for a moment. "I'd best go now if I want to get some owlblossoms. Good luck!"
he launches herself off the edge of the ridge, an audible whumph sound coming from her wings opening suddenly and she glides down into the forest out of sight, leaving you to choose your way, along the ridge or back down to the meadows.
